DIARY OF A FLAKEY SCALP

Dear Mamas,
Sometime in March 2019, I noticed some flakey skin in my hair. Something I had never suffered with. Let me just share a little background as to why I think it all started.
We were living about 8 miles away from secondary school we wanted our eldest son to attend. To attend that school you had to be within a mile radius, which meant we had to put our house up for sale. Backtrack 10 years... that was the plan when we moved in 2009.
So I had the stress of moving home, secondary schools and also private matters ( you don't need to know that, really not interesting). I then went to the doctors with other health issues, but I am much better and finally getting back on my healthy lifestyle, thanks to God.
Unfortunately, the flakey scalp situation has gotten worse and I just can't get rid of it. It has knocked my confidence slightly. I feel people are talking to my scalp rather than me because that is all they can focus on.
I have tried T-Gel and also another brand, which I can not remember for the life of me. I purchased from Home Bargains. It just made it worse and greasy. Another issue I have is the greasy hair. From washing once a week to two or three times a week, really stressed me out. I used to get a blow-dry once a week but slightly embarrassed to go at the minute.
So I have come across a brand that helps out with flakey scalps and has a fab range of hair products Percy and Reed. The packaging really makes me smile. It is just so romantic, don't you think? I took the hair quiz and then I placed my order on the 24th of January, it arrived on the 27th January with FREE delivery. If you sign up to the newsletter and it is your first order, they will send you a discount code to receive 15% off. Not bad hey?

Last night was the first night washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner. I took before and after pictures so you can see the results. You will notice that I have some redness on my hairline, it is quite sore there and where the flakiness has started. The directions on the back of the shampoo are to wash your hair daily for the first week, then however many times you require from then on. I am going to give the daily wash a go even though I feel it is too much. But if it helps in any way I am willing to try. I have quite long hair, so this is a chore in its self.

Good morning mamas,
So it feels really soft and shiny. Percy and Reed recommended the perfectly perfecting wonder care conditioner. Within the ingredients, there is aloe vera to repair split ends and condition lengths without weighing the hair down. It protects against colour fade and the environment. Anti-dandruff shampoos can dry the hair out, so this conditioner is a perfect fit to keep my hair looking fab.
Here is a picture of my hair after washing last night. You can see some slight redness going on the hairline. Will check back in with you tomorrow with the progress.

So I didn't wash my hair last night, I just felt washing it daily was to too much for my scalp. I left it and may wash tonight.

Hey mamas, I washed my hair today and just plaited it so it can dry naturally with a curl to it too. I must admit I like how this shampoo is treating my hair. It is smooth, shiny and smells good too. I will be honest I thought it wasn't going to work. But I can honestly say the itchiness is to a minimum and it looks in very good condition.

Just checking in with you mamas. I haven't noticed much flakiness, I think the shampoo is working. I am really starting to love it. I've not washed it for a few days and it is going strong. No sign of grease nor flakes.
Friday 14th February
So after the gym this morning, I went home and washed my hair. There were a couple of flakes but honestly not as bad as it has been. I went and had a blow-dry as the hubby was taking me out to dinner for valentines. My hair was shining and it just looked in such good condition.

Ok mamas, overall thoughts on Percy and Reed
I am thoroughly enjoying the shampoo and conditioner and will keep using for a few more weeks to make sure that I give it a fair chance. I didn't realise that I had been using the dry shampoo for frizzy hair. I received that in one of my subscription boxes before Christmas.
It is a big thumbs up from me... Can't wait to try more products out.
