Ok mamas, I hear you when it comes to us wanting more time for a little self-care now and again. Well, I have found a solution. Thank you to Rima Begum for contacting me and inviting me down to my local The Massage Company Branch for a complimentary full body massage. Hey, I am definitely getting used to this blogging life... #AD #GIFTED

On arrival, I was greeted by Sunny the manager of The Massage Company branch in Sutton Coldfield who made me feel very welcome. As soon as you walk in, you get a sense of pure relaxation. The waiting area is very bright, clean and very calm.

Sunny offered me a glass of water and handed me a form to fill out. This is normal and most Spas would ask you to do the same. It is a very professional layout, mamas, it isn't a spa so don't go thinking you are going to be relaxing in a bathrobe, sitting in the dark and just relaxing on loungers with some bubbly in your hand. It strictly massages and you know what? I like that fact it does exactly what it says on the tin. This is a type of massage you can go on your own and just relax for that hour. Being a mama of three, you don't get much time to spend by yourself. All three of mine are in full-time education which now makes it slightly easier to spend a little time for me.

So I was introduced to my Massage Therapist Stefan. Oh, you have a choice to request a male or female therapist at the time of your booking. I was not asked at the time but I honestly didn't mind. The Massage Therapist then takes you upstairs to the room and explains the extras you can upgrade too. I chose the hot stones deep tissue massage. You can choose from deep tissue, sports, classic Swedish and maternity. Upgrades are hot stones, aromatherapy, fantastic foot treatment and scalp massage. Wow, I didn't realise how tense I was. Stefan was fantastic, very professional and gave me time to get changed and under the cover on the heated bed. That was pure luxury.

Throughout the massage, he would ask how I was feeling and if there was any pain anywhere. He told me that my calf muscles were very tense. I think that was down to all the exercising I have got back into after almost six years of nothing. After the massage had finished, I was handed by Stefan a recommendation sheet and what his suggestions are for me and how many times a month I should be having a massage.

Once finished Sunny went through with me all the information about the membership. They have over 4000 members throughout their branches in Camberley, Tunbridge Wells, High Wycombe and Sutton Coldfield and over 450 massages a month from their members.

You can book online or just call in to book your massage. I have never heard of a membership massage before. So how it works is you pay monthly which is cheaper than a spa treatment and if you can't make that month, it will roll onto the next month. It is fully shareable which means If you haven't used that massage that month you can share it with a family member or friend. You can check all the details out on their website www.suttoncoldfield.massagecompany.co.uk

So my overall thoughts, very welcoming, relaxing and I really enjoyed the massage. I felt relaxed and the few aches and pains I did have slowly eased off a few days later. If you are looking for a massage to help with any kind of injury, stressed related or advised to have massage therapy, definitely consider The Massage Company. I did, in fact, sign up with a Flexi membership which I know myself and my husband will benefit from.

Have a great weekend mama.

xx

Dear Mamas,

Sometime in March 2019, I noticed some flakey skin in my hair. Something I had never suffered with. Let me just share a little background as to why I think it all started.

We were living about 8 miles away from secondary school we wanted our eldest son to attend. To attend that school you had to be within a mile radius, which meant we had to put our house up for sale. Backtrack 10 years... that was the plan when we moved in 2009.

So I had the stress of moving home, secondary schools and also private matters ( you don't need to know that, really not interesting). I then went to the doctors with other health issues, but I am much better and finally getting back on my healthy lifestyle, thanks to God.

Unfortunately, the flakey scalp situation has gotten worse and I just can't get rid of it. It has knocked my confidence slightly. I feel people are talking to my scalp rather than me because that is all they can focus on.

I have tried T-Gel and also another brand, which I can not remember for the life of me. I purchased from Home Bargains. It just made it worse and greasy. Another issue I have is the greasy hair. From washing once a week to two or three times a week, really stressed me out. I used to get a blow-dry once a week but slightly embarrassed to go at the minute.

So I have come across a brand that helps out with flakey scalps and has a fab range of hair products Percy and Reed. The packaging really makes me smile. It is just so romantic, don't you think? I took the hair quiz and then I placed my order on the 24th of January, it arrived on the 27th January with FREE delivery. If you sign up to the newsletter and it is your first order, they will send you a discount code to receive 15% off. Not bad hey?

Tuesday 4th February

Last night was the first night washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner. I took before and after pictures so you can see the results. You will notice that I have some redness on my hairline, it is quite sore there and where the flakiness has started. The directions on the back of the shampoo are to wash your hair daily for the first week, then however many times you require from then on. I am going to give the daily wash a go even though I feel it is too much. But if it helps in any way I am willing to try. I have quite long hair, so this is a chore in its self.

Wednesday 5th February

Good morning mamas,

So it feels really soft and shiny. Percy and Reed recommended the perfectly perfecting wonder care conditioner. Within the ingredients, there is aloe vera to repair split ends and condition lengths without weighing the hair down. It protects against colour fade and the environment. Anti-dandruff shampoos can dry the hair out, so this conditioner is a perfect fit to keep my hair looking fab.

Here is a picture of my hair after washing last night. You can see some slight redness going on the hairline. Will check back in with you tomorrow with the progress.

Thursday 6th February

So I didn't wash my hair last night, I just felt washing it daily was to too much for my scalp. I left it and may wash tonight.

Saturday 8th February

Hey mamas, I washed my hair today and just plaited it so it can dry naturally with a curl to it too. I must admit I like how this shampoo is treating my hair. It is smooth, shiny and smells good too. I will be honest I thought it wasn't going to work. But I can honestly say the itchiness is to a minimum and it looks in very good condition.

Tuesday 11th February

Just checking in with you mamas. I haven't noticed much flakiness, I think the shampoo is working. I am really starting to love it. I've not washed it for a few days and it is going strong. No sign of grease nor flakes.

Friday 14th February

So after the gym this morning, I went home and washed my hair. There were a couple of flakes but honestly not as bad as it has been. I went and had a blow-dry as the hubby was taking me out to dinner for valentines. My hair was shining and it just looked in such good condition.

Ok mamas, overall thoughts on Percy and Reed

I am thoroughly enjoying the shampoo and conditioner and will keep using for a few more weeks to make sure that I give it a fair chance. I didn't realise that I had been using the dry shampoo for frizzy hair. I received that in one of my subscription boxes before Christmas.

It is a big thumbs up from me... Can't wait to try more products out.

So all these beauty advent calendars have been spreading far and wide in the beauty industry especially on social media. The fab YouTuber Eltoria has been sharing the must-haves on her channel for the past month or so. She goes into so much detail about each brand that's available and guys, there are a lot of them.

I chose the glossybox advent calender.

It has been sitting on my beauty studio floor for almost 2 months and I've not touched it. I am quite proud of myself. So are you going to be purchasing one this year? Leave a comment below if you have purchased one and which one you went for.

This afternoon I uploaded my latest unboxing of November beauty subscription boxes. Ohh I do love one or two or maybe three. I think they are a fab way for you to get to know beauty brands, high end, indi and also the high street. You get to see what works on your skin and it is a fab way to try products that could be quite expensive to purchase so testing it beforehand can save you a lot of money too.

So which ones do I recommend? Glossybox, lookfantastic, birchbox and deck of scarlet.

Keep an eye out for my next video coming up, the start of me unboxing the advent calendar.
